Mickey J Meyer is an Indian Music Composer and Singer known for his works predominantly in Telugu Cinema, and a few Kannada films which are mostly remakes of his Telugu ventures.

Mickey J Meyer was born in Hyderabad (India) .He grew up in Secunderabad where he did his schooling and was introduced to music by his father who was an ardent music listener.Mickey started learning music at the very early age of seven.As a kid,he was exposed to various of genres of music.He used to play talat mahmood’s songs on his keyboard and had some vocal training from Mr Azeez.It was at Trinity College where mickey became serious about learning Music.His teacher Mr J.C. Marthand played a key role in honing Mickey’s writing abilities.During his time at Trinity college,Mickey had started writing symphony scores and piano pieces.

the Film Music bug had bitten into him and he started to explore a whole new genre of film music.Mickey was inspired by a lot of film composers like Hanz Zimmer, Ennio Morricone,A R Rahman to name a few,and decided to foray into cinema.In 2005 his first break came in the form of a Telugu movie named Pothe Poni,followed by Tenth Class and Note Book.

In 2007 Mickey scored music for the movie ‘Happy Days’,directed by Sekhar Kammula.This movie turned out to be a trend setter and the music was a chart buster for many months after its release.The music of ‘Happy Days’ was widely appreciated and gave mickey a very strong foothold in the tollywood music industry.The album won many awards and accolades.

Mickey’s next project ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’ was also a smash hit and earned him a Film Fare award yet again.By then,Mickey’s music had traveled all over the south region of India and into small villages and towns.His music was slow,had no thumping beats,had the simplest chord progressions, was soothing to the ears, and yet was accepted by everyone in the cinema field which was dominated by peppy beats oriented music.Mickey gained immense popularity in colleges and his music was a favorite at college fests and events.

Mickey later went on to work on numerous albums and his last album in 2010 was for the movie Leader.The music of Leader was widely appreciated and received excellent reviews.Just after the release of Leader,Mickey’s father fell ill and mickey had to take a tough decision of temporarily taking a break from his work to attend to his father, who passed away in 2011.In 2012,Mickey bagged the most prestigious Multi starrer movie ever made in the Telugu film industry,’Seetamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’,directed by Srikanth Addala,Starring Prince Mahesh Babu and Venkatesh. In 2010, Mickey got married to his American friend Sharon and lives in Hyderabad.

He composed the title song for the Maa TV serial Yuva. Mickey has composed music for ‘Life Is Beautiful’ for Sekhar Kammula, ‘Routine love story’ for Praveen Sattaru, and ‘Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’ for Srikanth Addala. His work for the title track of ‘Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’ was widely appreciated by critics as well as audience. After ‘Routine love story’ he again worked with Praveen Sattaru for a Telugu anthology film ‘Chandamama Kathalu’ where his Background Music is appreciated by Critics. His work in both ‘Chakkili Gintha’ and ‘Mukunda’ especially his Background Music got critical acclaim. Later he again joined with Dil Raju for ‘Kerintha’ and ‘Subramanyam For Sale’.
