After 23 long years, a Hindi director is going to helm a Telugu film. The last was Nagarjuna’s Criminal directed by Mahesh Bhat in 1994. Thanks to the super success of Baahubali films, Bollywood is now looking up to South especially Tollywood. The latest we hear is that Hindi filmmaker Kunal Kohli is all set for his Telugu debut. This is going to be a female-centric film.
And Tamanna has been zeroed in on to play the protagonist. Kunal Kohli is popular for 2006 film Fanaa that has Aamir and Kajol in the lead. Hence, his Telugu debut is drawing good buzz even before it hit the floors. It’s learnt that the film is going to be shot in London extensively.

This is not all. Young hero Sundeep Kishan is also roped in for a significant role in the film. If all goes as per the plan, the film is going to begin its shoot in June.

It’s almost confirmed. Director VV Vinayak is all set to direct Sai Dharam Tej. Apparently, Vinayak has found a youthful subject that would fit Sai aptly for the role. It’s said that Sai has given his nod and is quite excited as this is going to be his first big-budgeted film with a top director. Presently in pre-production phase, Vinayak is fine tuning the script along with his associates.

Apparently, Lavanya Tripati is in consideration for the female lead in the film opposite Sai. After Allu Sirish and Varun Tej, Lavanya seems to be pairing up with Sai Dharam, one more hero from the mega compound.

On other hand, Sai’s plate is full. He is currently working for BVS Ravi’s Jawan and Satish Vegesna’s Srinivasa Kalyanam. But certainly teaming up with Vinayak is expected to take him to the next level. Since this is Vinayak’s first collaboration with gigantic success of Khaidi No. 150 which went onto gross over 100 Crore, Sai is upbeat. More details are yet to be known.

Superstar Mahesh Babu has finally put a full stop to the wild speculations that have been doing rounds about the film’s teaser release and theatrical release dates.

The actor took to twitter to announce that the teaser of Spyder will release on 31st May at 5 PM, on the eve of his father Krishna’s birthday. Mahesh has also given a bonus to his loyal fans by confirming the film’s release as well. The long delayed film will hit screens for Dussehra festival.

“#SpyDer will come to you this Dussehra ! Let’s get the party started with the first glimpse on May 31st at 5 PM,” tweeted Mahesh.

Fans have started celebrating as the highly awaited announcement has come directly from the horse’s mouth. It will be interesting to see if the makers of Spyder stick to the release date as Pawan Kalyan-Trivikram’s film is also eyeing Dussehra release.

Noted politician and film patron T Subbarami Reddy had some time ago created a flutter in Tollywood by announcing to make a film in the Mega combination of Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. With no seeming progress on the project and the two Mega actors busy with their respective commitments, it was assumed that the proposed multistarrer might have been shelved. Well, it is not.

Subbarami Reddy, who has recently met Pawan and Trivikram on the sets of #PSPK25, has divulged that both Pawan and Chiranjeevi are very excited to act in his proposed multistarrer. ‘Presently, they are busy with their respective films but the story of their multistarrer is being readied. Trivikram will direct the duo once the they are available. I will make the film on a grand scale,’ Reddy said.

Even after the fresh confirmation, the materialization of this project still looks doubtful. Given that Megastar’s next is Uyyalawada, a historical film being planned on large canvas, he may be free only in the second half of 2018. Pawan will most probably get busy with politics by that time.

Mega fans however are keeping their fingers crossed for the happening of this biggest Mega family multistarrer.

After having been in pre-production stage for a long time, ‘Mahanati’, a biopic on legendary actress Savitri finally went on floors on Monday at Ramakrishna studios in Hyderabad.

To be directed by Nag Ashwin of ‘Yevade Subramanyam’ fame, Mahanati has Keerthy Suresh essaying the role of Savitri. Samantha will be seen as a journalist. Vijay Devarakonda has been roped in to play the love interest of Sam whereas Malayalam actor Dulquer Salman will reportedly play the character of Gemini Ganesan.

The story of Savitri is inextricably linked to Telugu legends – NTR and ANR. It has to be seen who the makers rope in for these roles.

A proud moment for Telugu film industry and Telugu people as the most prestigious movie, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion crosses 1500 cr. mark. SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘ Baahubali 2: The Conclusion ‘ has been creating waves at the box-office since its April 28 release. The film starring Prabhas and Rana Daggubati in lead roles has crossed the 1500-crore mark by collecting an estimated Rs 1530 crore at the worldwide box-office, according to a report.

The film grossed around Rs 1253 crore at the domestic box-office and garnered as much as Rs 277 crore from the overseas market (cumulative figures of all languages). The film enjoyed a grand release in about 9000 screens worldwide. Buzz is that the makers are also allegedly planning to release the film in Chinese and Japanese. If the plan does fall through, then there will be just no stopping the Rajamouli flick from powering on to the 2000-crore club.

S S Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Conclusion is creating history in India and abroad. The film, which released worldwide on April 28, has become the first Indian movie ever to collect Rs. 1000 crore, reports trade analyst Ramesh Bala. Baahubali: The Conclusion released in five languages – Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi, across 8,000 screens in India. The film has made over Rs. 800 crore in India and more than 200 crore in the international markets, tweeted Mr Bala. Baahubali: The Conclusion not only received a bumper opening of over Rs. 100 crore (all versions put together), the film also made over Rs. 300 crore in its first weekend.

After Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna,Venkatesh and many other star heroes who have turned into singers for their movies, It’s Balayya’s turn now.

And now, Balayya blesses his fans turning out to be a singer for his upcoming film being directed by Puri Jagannadh. The maverick director informed to the media that Balakrishna crooned a song which starts with the lines ‘Maava ek peg lavo’. Also, the director heaped praises on Balayya revealing that the Natasimham sang it like a professional. “Entire unit was shocked to listen to his song,” Puri lauded.

Producer Anand Prasad and music director Anup Rubens also had praises on Balakrishna’s singing talent. Bhaskara Bhatla has penned the lyrics of the song. Meanwhile, the film unit is leaving for Portugal to shoot some crucial scenes and songs of the movie. Shriya pairs up with Balakrishna in this Bhavya Creations production venture.

Jr NTR will be playing a triple role in his upcoming film, Jai Lava Kusa. Directed by K.S. Ravindra (Bobby) and produced by NTR’s brother Kalyan Ram, the film’s shooting is presently going on in and around Hyderabad. It is reported that one of the actor’s roles has some negative shades and that the makers even roped in a Hollywood make-up artiste for one of his looks.
