Move over from Mega Star’s 150th film Khaidi No. 150 which went onto be one of the biggest hits in the industry standing next to Baahubali. Now the latest is that one more 150th film is coming up and it’s from ‘Action King’ Arjun Sarja. Said to be a taut crime thriller, the film’s Tamil and Kannada versions have been named as Nibunan and Vismaya respectively. This is now going to be released in Telugu as Kurukshetra. Arjun is going to be seen as investigation officer Ranjith Kalidoss in the film being directed by Arjun Vaidhyanathan. Varalakshmi Sharathkumar is playing a lead role in the film alongside Arjun.

The makers are planning to release it in July. Arjun is now hoping to bounce back to limelight with the film. Arjun is quite known for his films such as Gentleman, Oke Okkadu, Hanuman Junction in Telugu. However, his previous films like Jai Hind 2 have not done well. So, it has to be seen how his next is going to fare at the Box Office.

Nagarjuna Akkineni, who has put on his experimental shoes, is contemplating to play the role of mythological character Karna in Mohanlal’s “Mahabharatham’ which will be made with a budget of Rs 1000 crore. The news has been revealed by Nag himself.

During a recent media interaction, Nag divulged, ‘I was approached by makers of Mahabharatham to play the role of Karna. I am aware of how hard filmmaker Shrikumar Menon has been working for past few years to make the epic film based on Vasudevan Nayar’s ‘Randamoozham’ novel. They had first approached me two years ago and they have once knocked my door now. I was promised that my role will be a prominent one. I will share compete details after I go through the final narration of my part’.

Nag has slipped onto diverse characters in his three decade long career. It will be interesting to see how well he can enact the character of Karna in the highest budgeted Indian film. Mohanlal is essaying Bheema in the film.

Meanwhile, Nag is busy promoting his new production venture ‘Ra Randoyi Veduka Chooddam’ starring Naga Chaitanya and Rakul Preet. The film will hit screens on 26th May.

A controversy is brewing in Bollywood over Telugu film Magadheera. The SS Rajamouli directorial with reincarnation as major theme is now allegedly “copied” by an upcoming film Raabta featuring Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon.

Hindi producer Madhu Mantena, who owns the Hindi remake rights of Magadheera, is shocked with the close similarities of Raabta. And many pointed that Raabta trailer has resemblances with Magadheera. Raabta, like Magadheera, is a reincarnation drama with two lovers meeting across time. But writers of Raabta say there’s more to it and say the film will have the concept of Karma. The concept is simple: whatever you do has consequences.

Although the writers of Raabta have already clarified and denied that the film is “copy” of Magadheera, and even stated that the comparisons are “untenable”, Madhu Mantena has moved  Hyderabad City Civil Court seeking an injunction against the release of Raabta which is scheduled for June 9 release world-wide. Taking up the petition, the City Civil Court in Hyderabad issued notice to the makers of Raabta and posted the matter to June 1st to release on whether to permit the release of Raabta on June 9 or not. Madhu Mantena contended that the Raabta film has copied its “unique story and plot line” in violation of its copyright. The matter is in the court now. More details would emerge on June 1st.
