Aloysius Vincent

Aloysius Vincent was an Indian Cinematographer and Director of Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films.

Vincent was born in 1928 in Calicut, then part of Madras Presidency. He was trained under Cinematographer Kamal Ghosh and was initially associated with Gemini Studios. He started his career in Tamil cinema and shot to fame with the Sivaji Ganesan-starrer ‘Uthamaputhiran’. Vincent teamed up with C. V. Sridhar in masterpieces such as ‘Kalyana Parisu’, ‘Nenjil Or Aalayam’, ‘Kaadhalikka Neramillai’, ‘Sumaithaangi’ and ‘Then Nilavu’. He then became a freelancer and achieved success in Malayalam and Telugu films. He established himself as one of the leading cinematographers in South India and also earned a name in Hindi films. At a time when cinematography was in its infancy in Indian cinema, he experimented with camera angles and placements. He succeeded in bringing in the kind of visuals that were not seen before in South Indian films.

In 2003, the Indian Society of Cinematographers (ISC) awarded him an Honorary Membership, along with K. K. Mahajan and V. K. Murthy.

From the mid-1960s on he directed some 30 movies including the landmark Malayalam films ‘Bhargavi Nilayam’, and ‘Murappennu’. He also won the Filmfare Best Cinematographer Award for ‘Prem Nagar’ (1974) starring Rajesh Khanna. His penultimate Malayalam movie were the 1985 3D film ‘Pournami Ravil’ and ‘Kochu Themmadi’ (1986). He is best known for directing Tamil films like ‘Engalkku Kalam Varum’, ‘Thulabharam’, ‘Iru Veedugal’ and Jayalalitha’s 100th film ‘Thirumangalyam’.

Vincent died on 25 February 2015 at the age of 86. He is survived by his wife and two cinematographer sons–Jayanan Vincent and Ajayan Vincent–and daughters, Sumithra Maria and Snehalatha Marie.

B.V.S.Ravi is an Indian Dialogue, story writer, Director and Producer who works in the Telugu Film Industry.

His birth name is Bachimanchi Venkata Subrahmanyam born in Vijayawada, India.

BVS Ravi is a famous Telugu Screenwriter who delivered many memorable hits and commercial successes. Almost all the top directors in Telugu have associated themselves with Ravi for their projects. Besides being story screenplay and dialogue writer, Ravi has lent his work in the treatment of commercial storytelling of scripts which proved to be highly successful.

He assisted writer Posani Krishna Murali for many successful films like ‘Sivayya’, ‘Seetharamaraju’, ‘Preyasi Raave’, ‘Snehithulu’, ‘Ayodhya Raamayya’, ‘Badhrachalam’ and many more.

He turned as director for the film ‘Wanted’ in 2011,casting Gopichand Tottempudi and Deeksha Seth in lead roles with music by Chakri.

BVS Ravi turned as a producer for the film, ‘Second Hand’, with which he showcased his management and creative skills by completing the movie visually and technically brilliant in low-budget. BVS Ravi was the first producer to materialize the concept of single-shot cinematography in the Telugu film industry.

He is a close associate of Ram Gopal Varma,Puri Jagannath,Krishna Vamsi,Rana Daggubati,Allu Arjun,Ravi Teja,Dil Raju,Mohan Babu,Manchu Vishnu and Manchu Lakshmi Prasanna.

Ravi is directing Sai Dharam Tej movie ‘Jawan’, also starring Mehreen Pirzada.

Sharwanand Myneni is an Indian film Actor known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema and a few Tamil films.

Sharwanand was born in Vijayawada, India to Mr.MRV Prasad Rao and Vasundhara Devi. He has done bachelor of commerce from Wesley’s, Hyderabad. During his college days, he was selected as “The Hindu’s Best New Face”. Sharwanand is also a trained dancer and very passionate about movies. At the age of 17, he attended Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute in Mumbai.

Sharwanand first came to media attention in a Thumbs Up advertisement with Chiranjeevi. He started his career appearing in supporting roles in most of the films. He made his acting debut in Telugu with 5va Tareeku in 2003. Later, he shared screen space with popular stars like Chiranjeevi in ‘Shankar Dada M.B.B.S’. and with Venkatesh in ‘Sankranthi’ and ‘Lakshmi’.

He rose to stardom with ‘Vennela’ and ‘Amma Cheppindi’. Films like ‘Gamyam’, ‘Andari Banduvaya’ and ‘Prasthanam’ won him accolades. He then forayed into Kollywood with ‘Kadhalna Summa Illai’, a remake of ‘Gamyam’ but it did not perform well at box office. His second Tamil film was ‘Naalai Namadhe’ directed by Vinayan. His third film was ‘Engeyum Eppodhum’. In 2012,under his banner Sarvaa Arts, he became a Producer with his film, Ko Ante Koti.

He got his commercial breakthrough with the film, Run Raja Run which was one of the blockbusters of the year 2014. This film, produced by UV Creations, was the second venture after their first blockbuster film, ‘Mirchi’. Sharwanand’s portrayal of the lead, Raja, won him accolades. His new look in the film with bright and colourful outfits is an added boost for his character’s portrayal. His next film ‘Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju’ with Nithya Menen directed by Kranthi Madhav received positive applause from critics and ran as a decent movie.His next film is ‘Express raja’ which added one more hit to his credit

Cheran’s bilingual (Telugu/Tamil) directorial venture “Rajadhiraja” with Nithya Menen done below average at box office.

His movie “Shatamanam Bhavati” collected almost 20 crores (best of his career) which released on jan 14th 2017 competing with Chiranjeevi’s comeback movie “Khaidi No. 150” and Balakrishna’s prestigious 100th movie “Gowthami Putra Shatakarni”. Shatamanam bhavati Produced by Dil Raju, directed by Satish vesegna. Anupama Parameshwan played female lead.

Sharwanand is also gearing up for this 25th film, which will be made by the noted producer BVSN Prasad in his production SVCC cinema.

In 2012, he received the Best Male Debut award for his work in the blockbuster ‘Engeyum Eppodhum’ at the 1st South Indian International Movie Awards.

Chiranjeevi

Konidela Siva Sankara Vara Prasad better known by his stage name Chiranjeevi, is an Indian Film Actor, Dancer, Producer, Singer, Voice Artist, Politician, Businessman, Investor and founder of Praja Rajyam Party.

Chiranjeevi was born in Mogalthur, a small village near Narsapur. His father worked as a constable and got transferred on a regular basis. He spent his childhood in his native village with his grand parents. Chiranjeevi did his schooling in Nidadavolu, Gurajala, Bapatla, Ponnuru, Mangalagiri and Mogalturu. He was an NCC cadet. Chiranjeevi had participated in the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi as an NCC cadet in the early 70s. He was interested in acting from a very young age. He did his Intermediate at C. S. R. Sarma College in Ongole. After graduating with a degree in commerce from Sri Y N College at Narsapur, Chiranjeevi moved to Chennai and joined the Madras Film Institute in 1976 to pursue a career in acting. Since his family worshipped Anjaneya, a Hindu deity, his mother advised him to take the screen name “Chiranjeevi”, meaning “live forever”, a reference to belief of Hanuman living forever.

He has two daughters, Sushmita and Srija, and a son, Ram Charan Teja who is also an actor in Tollywood. One of Chiranjeevi’s brothers, Nagendra Babu, is a film producer and also has acted in several films. His youngest brother, Pawan Kalyan, is an actor in Tollywood too. Allu Aravind, his brother-in-law, is a film producer. Chiranjeevi is the uncle of Allu Arjun.

He made his acting debut in 1978, with the film ‘Punadhirallu’. However, ‘Pranam Khareedu’ was released earlier at the box office. Known for his break dancing skills, Chiranjeevi starred in 150 feature films in a variety of roles. In 1987, he was starred in ‘Swayam Krushi’, which was dubbed into Russian, and was screened at the Moscow International Film Festival. In the same year, Chiranjeevi was one of the Indian delegates at the 59th Academy Awards. In 1988, he co-produced ‘Rudraveena’, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration.

Chiranjeevi’s 1992 film ‘Gharana Mogudu’, directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, is the first Telugu film to gross over ₹ 10 crore at the box office, the film was screened at the 1993 International Film Festival of India in the mainstream section. The film made Chiranjeevi the highest paid actor in India at the time, catapulting him to the cover pages of noted national weekly magazines in India. The entertainment magazines Filmfare and India Today named him “Bigger than Bachchan”, a reference to Bollywood’s Amitabh Bachchan. News magazine The Week hailed him as “The new money machine”.He was paid a remuneration of ₹1.25 crores for the 1992 film ‘Aapadbandhavudu’. In 2002, Chiranjeevi was given the Samman Award for the Highest Income Tax Payer for the assessment year 1999–2000 by the Minister of State for Finance, Government of India.

In a film career spanning thirty five years, he won four state Nandi Awards and ten Filmfare Awards South including the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award – South. In 2006, Chiranjeevi was honored with the Padma Bhushan, India’s third highest civilian award, for his contributions to Indian cinema, and was presented with an honorary doctorate from Andhra University. In 2013, he inaugurated the Incredible India Exhibition, a joint participation of the Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at the 66th Cannes Film Festival. He also represented Incredible India at the 14th International Indian Film Academy Awards ceremony held in Macau. In 2013, IBN LIVE named him as one of “The men who changed the face of the Indian Cinema”. Chiranjeevi’s 150th film was announced in May 2015.

Chiranjeevi founded the Chiranjeevi Charitable Foundation, established in 1998, which is involved in humanitarian activities. In 2008, he entered politics by forming the ‘Praja Rajyam Party’. In the 2009 Andhra Pradesh elections, Chiranjeevi contested from his native places, Palakollu and Tirupati. He was defeated by the Congress party candidate in Palakollu and was elected as a member of the State Assembly from the Tirupati constituency. He led the Praja Rajyam Party to emerge as the third largest party during the same election. Later, in February 2011, his Praja Rajyam Party merged into the Indian National Congress. He is a co-owner of Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters.

Nandamuri Balakrishna

Nandamuri Balakrishna is an Indian Film Actor and politician,popularly known as Yuvaratna, Natasimham, often cited as “Balayya”, is known for his works predominantly in the Telugu Cinema.

Balakrishna born in Chennai (then Madras), Tamil Nadu to Telugu actor and son of three-time former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh ‘Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’ and his wife Basava Tarakam. As the Telugu film industry was based in Madras at the time, he spent his entire childhood in Madras. During his adolescence, he moved to Hyderabad following the shifting of the Telugu film industry to that city. He earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Nizam College , Hyderabad, Telangana.

In 1982, at the age of 22, He married Vasundhara Devi, daughter of the owner of SRMT. They have two daughters, Brahmani and Tejaswini, and a son, Taraka Rama Mokshagna Teja. His elder daughter, Brahmani, is an alumnus of Santa Clara University and Stanford University. She has married her cousin, Nara Lokesh, the son of TDP president and present Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naidu.

He entered the film industry as a child artist at the age of 14 with the film ‘Tatamma Kala’. In a film career spanning 40 years he has acted in hundred films, in a variety of roles. He has played three different roles as a grandfather, father and grandson for the first time on celluloid screen.

Balakrishna has received two state Nandi Awards, and the South Indian International Movie Award for best acting. Balakrishna was the guest of honor at the 43rd International Film Festival of India. Balakrishna is the Chairman of Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research. He is an elected member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

In his 100th film, He plays the role of Gautamiputra Satakarni, 2nd century ruler of the Satavahana Empire in the upcoming biographical epic ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’.
