S. S. Rajamouli (Koduri Srisaila Sri Rajamouli) is an Indian Film Director and Screenwriter, known for his works mainly in Telugu Cinema.
Rajamouli born in Raichur of Karnataka. However, his native place is Kovvur. He studied up to Class IV at Kovvur and continued his education till Intermediate at Eluru. Moreover his father and brother are in the film industry. So, he joined as an assistant with Editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao for some time.he worked for some days in AVM recording theatre. After that, he joined his father as an assistant with his father S Vijayendra Prasad for about six years. During that time, Rajamouli used to narrate his stories to several directors.
Rajamouli joined as an assistant with Director K. Raghavendra Rao and worked for Santi Nivasam, a teleserial. However, his seniors Vara Mullapudi and Yeleti Chandrasekhar used to get more importance than he did. Consequently, worked harder, which earned him the ‘working devil'(Pani Rakshasudu) title from K. Raghavendra Rao.
Rajamouli finally got an opportunity to direct a film under the supervision of K. Raghavendra Rao as ‘Student No 1’ with Jr. NTR, which turned out to be a a super hit.
Later on, he got another chance to Direct Jr. NTR again for ‘Simhadri’. His third film ‘Sye with Nitin Kumar Reddy was also a big hit. After the completion of a hat-trick of hits, Rajamouili directed Prabhas for Chatrapathi, which was also blockbuster hit.
Then he chose Raviteja as hero for ‘Vikramarkudu’ which was also a super hit film. Rajamouli brought out a socio-fantasy film with Jr. NTR again ‘Yamadonga’. Rajamouli brought out the film on his own banner ‘Viswamitra Creations’. With this, he had completed a double hat-trick personally.
‘Magadheera’ the historical backdrop film turned out to be one of the biggest blockbuster with terrific and record breaking collections of all time. Magadheera is considered the seventh wonder of Rajamouli.
His comedy thriller film ‘Maryada Ramanna’ had actor Sunil as the male lead. This was the biggest hit of that year. It was remade in Hindi as “Son of Sardar”.
His next film Eega was released in Telugu and Tamil (Naan Ee) on 6 July 2012. It is a fictional film, with major part for Visual effects (VFX), received positive reviews from audience and critics as well.
Rajamouli’s much awaited movie Baahubali – India’s Biggest Motion Picture Released on July 10th 2015.
currently Rajamouli is working on Baahubali -2 which will be second and final Chaper in Baahubali Series.
Most of his Film’s were Screened in Many International Film Festivals and word many awards.
